Starship Mudskipper

Hello friends! I come bearing news.

The long-awaited season finale of Starship Mudskipper is officially scheduled to go live today. Yes, today. As in, this very rotation of our sun. I realize this may come as a shock to those of you who assumed the show had quietly jettisoned itself off into the vacuum of space, but no… we made it.

This episode represents a true labor of love. And not the fun kind of love-labor, like crocheting a scarf while binge-watching baking shows on Netflix. No, I mean the sweaty kind of love-labor, the kind that involves coordinating across multiple time zones, major life-upheavals, and one co-creator moving to another continent before coming back with a brand new toddler in tow (Don't worry. He didn't steal it. The toddler is his). Everyone involved is juggling about five other projects, plus whatever qualifies as “real life” these days.

In short: getting this episode made required scheduling wizardry, expert coordination, stupid luck, and a lot of caffeine. And yet, somehow, it happened.

To the Starship Mudskipper team, thank you. Truly. Thank you for showing up, for doing the work, and for continuing to lend your time and talents to something this beautifully weird. You all made this episode what it is: funny, heartfelt, strange, and very us.

And to our listeners, thank you. Your support means the world to us, especially those of you who stuck around through our “hibernation phase…” otherwise known as the unscheduled break that lasted several dozen cycles. Extra gratitude to everyone who supported us on Ko-fi during the downtime. You helped keep this ship afloat, even when we weren’t sure which direction we were headed. (Or if we even remembered how to steer.)

As for what’s next: I’m still very much alive and writing, despite my suspicious online silences. In fact, about 90% of my brain is currently being occupied by a brand-new book project, which I am considering a spiritual successor to the Tales from the Gas Station series. I’ll share more about that when I can, but for now just know it’s in the works, and I’m extremely excited about where it’s going.

I’m also still working on the rest of Tales from the Road, which I will post to the blog just as soon as I find the time. No firm release date yet, unless you count “eventually” as firm, but I promise, it’s coming. In the meantime, here are a few quick life updates:

  • There is a Bedside Manor followup in the works.

  • The comic book is still being produced, but our distributor went out of business, so we’re working on finding a new one.

  • The third theatrical audiobook is in post production, with the fourth right behind.

  • Gaston disappeared for three hours and came back wearing a tiny crown.

In conclusion: please enjoy the season finale of Starship Mudskipper. It was a labor of love, forged in chaos, tempered in fire, and edited under duress. We think it was worth the wait. Hope you agree.

Signo de apertura de interrogación Me pregunto si en esos futuros proyectos hay algo en Espanol, tal vez con el canal de Pride quien ha traído tus historias a este idioma?

AWESOME!!! Reading the third TFTGS book as we speak (as I type). My poor roommates have to deal with my constant abrupt laughter.
