Happy Halloweek from the Gas Station!

Hello everyone!

It's me, Jack! Contrary to the highly-believable rumors, I am not dead yet. But I am very busy, so this will have to be a quick update.

First of all, you may have noticed that the web comic from Clockwork has its own tab now. If you haven't seen it yet, go check it out!

Secondly, has anyone seen or heard from my lawyer in the last couple weeks? I am mildly concerned that Mr. Cobraheart or whatever his name is/was may have gone the way of all my other former lawyers and passed on from this mortal coil without so much as a goodbye. Jerry is throwing together a seance party to see if we can conjure his spirit and find out what he did with all those cursed pirate doubloons we asked him to launder for us. (I'll be sure to let you know what we find out.)

Now let's talk about Halloween.

A few years back, I made a series of posts here and over on r/NoSleep called "Happy Halloween from the Gas Station." That particular story arc has gone through a few evolutions. Notably, it began an adaptation into a 7 part comic book series called "Code Green." A lot of you have been asking me for updates on this project. Unfortunately, I don't have anything concrete to report right now except that the comic is still being produced, and as soon as I know more, I'll pass it on to you.

"Happy Halloween" was also expanded and fleshed out into a full novella titled "The Green Night." The earlier version always felt a bit rushed to me. This longer format gave me the chance to tell the story the way I wanted to from the start. While the overall plot is mostly the same as it was in the original blog posts, I was able to develop details and backstories and create what I consider a superior version of the Mayfly Queen's arc. Plus, I fixed like a thousand typos.

If you ever wanted to read the expanded version of "Happy Halloween from the Gas Station," or if you didn't realize that there was more to the story and want to see what changed and what was added, now is the perfect time to check it out because from today until the end of Halloween, the ebook is free.

That's right, it's completely free! Download it between now and Halloween and you get to keep it forever! And for no reason, let me just add that I'm not allowed to ask you to leave a good review for the book on Amazon. But I think I am allowed to say, "Please don't leave a bad review."

Oh, and one more thing: If you prefer listening to my weird stories over reading, there is a new episode of the Snake's Paw podcast I wrote called "The Balls of Noir County" that might be worth checking out. It's a full-cast satirical murder-mystery radio play designed to be listened to with the highest quality headphones you can find.

That's all for now. I hope everybody gets all the tricks and treats they deserve this year.

Love you,

-the ghost of Jack Townsend

The last cursed doubloon I had, killed my lawyer. Sigh. Oh, well. C'est la vie, eh? Happy Halloween, Jack! Make the Kieffers carve your Jack O'Lantern.

Lemme tell you, if Mr. Tective were on the gas station that awful but not as bad as usual Halloween night things would've gone down way differently. Also, RIP Jack.
